the night
my goddess is the dark of night
she rules in blood
the fear her knight
in light it seems I’ve fled her spell
but in the dark she knows me well
her touch is steps behind the corner
her eyes are whispers in the trees
her creaking hands they pull me closer
her beauty pushes me to my knees
at day she seems a dreadful blur
but in the night I long for her
my thoughts eat glass
sing the song
of hungry thoughts
their eyes will long
for teeth of glass
their bite is splinters
in my head
they crack and grate
till all is red
my thoughts they fear the truth of light
as their allure lays in the night
at day I dream they left my soul
but when we dance they eat me whole
