to plant a seed

Story

submission for inkforpeace

how could we possibly know

what it essentially feels like

to assist midst falling snow

at the first devastating strike

that marks the beginning of

the end of a known normality

it is now war and not the dove

that reminds us of our mortality

habits, homes and hopes part

so many habitants are forced

to leave their country and start

a new life to avoid get coursed

and whilst their loved ones fight

for nothing less than their lives

they have to cope with the fright

whilst we silently eat our chives

as if everything was still alright

although, we clearly have to see

that peace is yet not within sight

and looking away is not the key

we will possibly never know

what it essentially feels like

to assist midst falling snow

at the first devastating strike

but what we definitely can do

is try to make space among all

the clouds for a little bit of blue

by proving that there is no wall

preventing other countries from

taking care of the people in need

and repairing the cracks with gum

to help them plant and grow a seed
