I once was a boy, now i am a girl.
A girl, who loves to twirl.
When i was little
it was a riddle.
I was just different,
that was my predicament.
I wanted to play with my sisters toys
but my mom said those weren’t for boys.
My father wanted me to play soccer
but i was just hiding in my locker.
Cause the other boys were mean,
i couldn’t allow myself to be seen.
No idea what i did wrong
but maybe i did just not belong.
I asked to go to dance class instead
but i soon wished for that to be unsaid.
That was the first time i saw my fathers rage
and i was still at a tender age.
My mom tried to reason
but father said it is treason.
And that no son of his
would ever become a Ms.
I once was a boy, now i am a girl.
A girl, who loves to twirl.
The first thing i did
once i was no longer a kid,
was to take a chance
and learn how to dance.
