And when my mom turns on the TV at night
It’s not because she wants to watch it
It’s because she’s afraid of being alone
Just like when I do it
Because I rather hear something else
Than myself saying I’m done living
Because life is hard
But the TV is loud
So why don’t we keep dancing
So why don’t we keep forgetting
About why we’re existing
Because remembering makes it tough
To realize we’re still here
Because if we know we’re here
We won’t be cheering
We will be suffocated
Because those stories are lies
And we keep telling ourselves lies
Because there is no truth
Because the truth is
There is nothing
Like the TV at night
But nobody is really watching
