Story

Leaving his potions class, Castor sees his older brother leaning against the wall opposite of him. Those typical dark curls both of the brothers have, are impossible to miss, even in the crowd of people passing by to get to their next class. The younger Blackwell was about to join all the other students walking to their next class, but Polaris caught up faster than expected.

“Oi! Cas”, he shouts, but Castor ignores it, especially since his brother is using a nickname he used to get called, when they both were still kids as if nothing has happened. Castor hasn’t been called that name in over a year, and it drives him mad. It was the name Polaris used to call him when they were still themselves, when they were still brothers, now this seems ages away and the nickname stings deep down in his heart.

“Can’t ignore me forever.” Polaris calls again, now way closer to his brother, so Castor walks even faster than he already does, almost running. He wants to leave, but there is no chance, he knows.

“Cas-“

Castor stops in his tracks, which interrupts whatever Polaris was about to say. He knows that he can’t keep running away from his problems, instead he should face them, which he now does. He turns to face his brother, who now looks at him with a surprised expression on his face, as if he wasn’t expecting his brother to notice him at all. They look at each other and lock eyes for the first time since Castor came to Hamting, no, it is the first time for even longer than that. It is the first time they looked at each other since Polaris has left their house and ran away. Polaris looks at his brother with a peaceful expression on his face, while the corridor around them empties.

“Hello Polaris”, Castor says, when they were the only people left in the hall, as it seems.

“Cas…”, Polaris still looks at his brother, who he hasn’t seen in over a year. A face so familiar yet so strange. He looks more mature, which was silly since he was only fifteen years old, he couldn’t look that mature. Maybe it was his uniform that made him appear as if he was a grown up man, maybe it’s his hair, which got longer over the past year, but maybe it’s just Polaris’ mind that plays tricks on him.

“I’m sorry that I couldn’t face you yet, I wasn’t ready.” The younger Blackwell explains cold-hearted.

“Cas it’s fine.”, the other one answered rather pained by his brothers tone

“Nothing is fine. You left me alone in that place.” Castor says angrily. “I had to live with them on my own for a year. They were so incredibly mad at you, and they took it out on me. You didn’t even explain yourself. One day I woke up to your empty room and from one second to another the whole world went quiet, and it got so loud at the same time. You betrayed me. You were my brother, Polaris.”, he continues and gets louder until he is almost yelling at his older brother, finally letting out the rage he was holding in for over a year now.
