what you need to know

dear person who reads this,

i hope you realise that once in a while everybody fucks up in life.
all of us are far from perfect, and that is okay.
you learn from your mistakes and do better the next time.

i hope you realise that your grades do not define you.
it does not matter if you are the best in maths or the worst in history.
even without good grades, you will find your place in the world.

i hope you realise that as a girl, you can do anything.
you can play football or do gymnastics.
jeans, t-shirts, dresses, and skirts do not make you more or less of a girl.
as a girl, black can be your favourite colour but so can be pink.
do not let society tell you otherwise.

i hope you realise that you are lovable.
and more importantly, that you are worth being loved.
if it is not your family who shows you love and lets you know that you are loved, there are people out there who will.

i hope you realise that you can be a girl or a boy or anybody else, no matter what you do.
the sport you play does not matter.
the way you dress does not matter. clothes do not have a gender.
and everything else does not matter either.
be who you want to be.

i hope you realise that it doesn’t matter who you love.
no matter if you are lesbian gay or something else entirely.
your sexuality does not define you.
take pride in who you are.

i hope you realise that your voice is counts.
speak out loud if there is something you have to say, even if your voice shakes.
tell them how you feel and what you think.
you are allowed to say whatever you want.

i hope you realise that everybody has their own battles to fight.
and that they look different for everyone.
you can not always see if someone is struggling.
so be nice because you never know what someone might be going through.

i hope you realise that you are enough.
