Story

Moon, what are you thinking about?” asks the star.

“I’m thinking about the night and the glitter of the stars, the shimmer and the peace in the middle of the night,” the moon answers quietly.

“Are you also thinking about the sun?

“Yes,” says the moon, “I think about it every day…” he says a little melancholically.

Every day? Oh moon, it must have been a long time that you haven’t forgotten the sun.”

“Yes, my dear star. Since I can feel. So for many uncountable lunar months,” whispers the moon to itself.

“Why can’t you be close to the sun?” asks the star and the moon is silent, shining its dull light into the night.

After hours the moon answers: “I don’t know, when the sun is in the sky I am a day away and at night the sun is unreachable for me. I have tried, but I can’t get close to it.”

Facts cannot be changed, dear moon,” the star tries to console the moon, “tell me, why are you whispering?” the moon replies:

“Because I don’t want to wake people up.”

The star smiles at the moon in the sky. “You know, star, maybe it’s a good thing that I don’t get too close to the sun, maybe I would burn or the sun would darken. I still like to think about it and that’s why I have this shimmer and can also give others a little light with it.”

The star is happy that everything is fine. He smiles with the moon and the moon assures him that everything will continue to shine as it is and the stars will never fall from the sky.

A shooting star has heard the conversation and flies to the sun to assure her that the moon is thinking of her as its glow lights up the night.
