Story

She just started crying harder scaring Winter who had no idea how to proceed. The only thing he found to do was kneel in front of the nymph.- Show me your face. She did it. Winter could feel how his cheeks began to feel warmer when he had the big eyes of the nymph before him. Trying to keep his composure, he brought his hand to her tearful face turned her tears into snow, and then gently blew them away with a soft breeze. A look of confusion appeared on the nymph’s face, and she stopped crying. – Why do you want to know what love is, Winter? – suddenly asked the Nymph.- Curiosity – he tried to answer without much eloquence. Well… – the nymph began to look everywhere as if looking for an explanation in the landscape – love is… butterflies in the stomach… knees bent… – As she spoke, calm took the place of crying and the nymph began to explain with more and more emotion what love was. She moved her hands, smiled, and gave examples, although Winter understood less than half, he couldn’t help but look at her perplexed.- Do you understand me? – The nymph concluded, waking him up from her enchantment.- No – he answered sincerely. The nymph’s eyes filled with memories and tears began to flow from her eyes again.- You understand nothing – She said crying – Why do you even care?- Why? – Winter had to think about the answer for a moment – I thought that just by existing I was already doing my part. But I was wrong. I can create, I can think and I can destroy. However, loving myself or others is something I still can’t quite understand. I would greatly appreciate the help. The nymph, couldn’t help but smile palely. – Love is like dancing on ice – she finally said after a long pause – When you dance on ice, whether alone or with someone, there is a latent possibility that you could fall. What’s more, you know that sooner or later this is going to happen. So when it does, you heal your wounds, you take a deep breath, and hope you have learned the lesson of what kind of steps not to take, you go back and try it. That is Love.

Finally, Winter understood. – That’s what you were trying to do when you arrived, right? You wanted to dance again. The Nymph agreed with a little bitterness – I fell again – she answered. Winter offered his hand to the Nymph – What are you offering me, Winter? – questioned the Nymph – My friendship, Nymph, my company, and my help to get up – Winter answered.- I never thought to see Winter smile – said the nymph, and he smiled more.- Now you’re going to see him dance. The nymph of the gray roses and Winter danced separately for a long time. Day by day they became the greatest of friends and confidants. One day before the end of Winter’s time to walk the earth, he extended his hand to the Nymph and she accepted. They danced together for the first time and Winter returned to his long sleep with a smile on his face because he knew that now he would finally have a reason to get up again. Spring, always has those first loves, the innocent ones. Summer has those passionate loves. Autumn, on the other hand, is those sober and mature loves. But Winter has those special ones. Slow and paused, they challenge you to talk to your reflection and try to dance on ice, because when you are ready, you will be able to invite someone else to dance.
